Wacky Week in Review
It's been almost two weeks since I uploaded (or is it "downloaded"?) pictures to the computer. Here's a little re-cap of the last week, from Saturday to Saturday.
*Mark and brother Joe worked on their dad's basement (finishing the back room). On an interesting side-note, these two are also battling each other in a 15-pound weight loss challenge (from February to May 1st). My hubby has 12 years on Joe, so it may be an additional challenge for Mark...but I think he can do it!!
*Doug and Paula came to visit, and here Aunt Sara is holding Lauren (now 2 months old). She got so BIG in the 3 weeks' time we hadn't seen her!!
*Wynne with her godfather Uncle Doug, his daughter (my goddaughter) Mady Boots, and Shae. Funny how this next generation of Siegerts is mainly GIRLS (when Mark has 5 brothers)!
*There was No Bullying Week at school, and the kids got to dress up each day to mark the event. (Blue Day because bullying makes me blue, Hat Day for hats off to no bullying, etc.) Anyway, here's Wacky Wednesday with Shae and Paige. This is early morning before the bus arrived...can you see the morning eyes? Shae is saying something wacky, but I can't remember what it was. Probably something like "Hey, we're not going to miss the bus today, Mom!" because we missed it TWICE this week. Oi.
*This is a better picture of Paige's wacky hair and expressions.
*This is Cy's version of wacky. Football pads and jersey. Not sure what that means, but hopefully it's not an indication to his future approach to hitting somebody in football! On second thought, it's just wacky because this kid is only nine and he looks at least TWELVE. Quit growing already!!
*This is my fifth grader's version of "Wacky". Don't get too crazy on me, Ally! (She has an image to uphold, you know.)
*Later that week, Ally started putting together her Louisiana float for the big 5th grade 50 States Parade. It's an awesome project, and Ally has put a lot of work into it already. Can't wait to see the final results!
*In more Wacky Week News...this is my baby going to preschool open house. PRESCHOOL. My BABY. SLOW DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*This is MY BABY walking to her CLASSROOM with her BOOKBAG. She picked out her clothes, dressed herself at 8 in the morning, and waited 7 and a half hours for school to start already. She is not the least bit anxious to start school like her big brother and sisters.
*This is my baby playing in the "flower shop" of the 4K classroom. I ordered 3 yellow flowers wrapped in green tissue paper. She gave me quite a deal, only 24 cents!
*Friday was a blur, but a good blur. After cleaning the house, last-minute shopping for the weekend, and a baby shower for the first grade teacher and her baby girl, we had friends over for dinner. Here are Ava and Wynne with the two daddies. And a happy Cy!
*Yesterday the kids played Animal Rescue with their dad. As they were walking in the pasture, they saw Mickey chasing some baby rabbits. He ate two of them (because that's what Jack Russell Terriers, even geriatric ones, do). So Mark scooped up the other two and the kids spent all day yesterday researching and caring for Pip and Pop.
*I cautioned the kids that we couldn't keep these babies, and Internet research confirmed my caution. Waiting till the "coast was clear" from Mickey, Dad and kids set up a temporary home for them.
*Paige and Pop
*Shae and Pip
*Fortunately, we discovered that the mother rabbit was most likely going to return to the nest that evening to feed her babies. And fortunately again, unlike many wild animals, the mother doesn't reject her baby bunnies if they've been touched by humans. So Mark and Ally went on a nest-finding expedition and made a guess as to where it was. There were quite a few tears shed when the bunnies were placed in the nest at the end of the day. Cy said, "We should pray for the mom to find her babies tonight." I was so proud of how mature and respectful Ally and Cy were through the whole process!
