Bouncy, Twirly, Boys & Girlies!

Somebody in our house is turning FIVE tomorrow!!

Grandma came to visit on Saturday morning and even gave Wynne her fancy blinky birthday tiara (among all kinds of other goodies)!
Since Dubs really likes the Pinkalicious series by the Kann sisters...and also has had a fascination with unicorns...we had a unicorn-slash-princess party the other day.  After reading the book Goldilicious (where Pinkalicious puts flowers on the mane of her pet unicorn Goldie), we had a few party games that went along with the book.
This was our version of Pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey.  Pin the flowers on Goldie's mane!
Big sister Ally did a fantastic job free-handing Goldie, don't you think?
Pinkalicious has a picnic lunch, and so did we!
Of course we had to have pink cupcakes.   Thanks to Aunt Tammie for bringing the Seussian-cupcake tree!
The kids played a lot on their own, but once in a while we rounded them up for more book-themed fun.  There's a part in the story where Pinkie and her brother Peter look up in the sky and see Goldie riding in a hot air balloon!  So Wynne and I made this pinata.
Then it was time to bring Goldie back to earth!

Everyone took a few cracks at the balloon...
...and I think it was Cy who finally brought it down.
Despite the dreadful wintry/rainy weather, I think the kids still managed to have fun.  Of course, sugar always helps :)
For weeks Cy had been planning a big treasure hunt for Wynne and her friends.  He had to make some adjustments, but it turned out really fun.  He put the six letters of the treasure's resting place ("closet") on six separate pieces of paper and hid 6 Easter eggs around the house.  I was so proud of him for thinking of this all by himself!
Ava, Wynne, and Kate enjoyed their fancy fairy wand treasure!  (Ally used the hot glue gun and her imagination to make these, and I'm sorry the photo didn't include much of them!)
After opening some wonderful gifts, like these adorable boots and garden kit from Godmother Aunt Tammie & Uncle Dan...

...three little Jumping Beans went into the bounce house!
All that grant-writing for Gyminy Crickets in 2004 paid off :)
Cousins Catherine and Garrison joined us for a fun, bouncy afternoon!

My brother & sister-in-law were getting ready for their oldest daughter to go to her first prom that same evening.  When I took this picture, I got a fast-forward image in my head of these little girls going to THEIR first prom.
Oh boy oh boy oh boy.....slow down, Father Time!!!

That post should put a BIG SMILE on my face! That party must have been totally and completely awesome because Ava talked about it for several days! She was so excited and she had so much fun. Cy's treasure hunt was a big hit with her too! You guys amaze me with your creativity! Oh...and Ally's Goldicious is spot-on! :-)

Happy Birthday Wynne!!!!!!!
