Tourists for the Day

Last week some of my sisters and Mom got together for Marla's birthday. Marla had this great idea to go on a day trip to the Spring Green/Mazomanie area for window shopping and lunch. The weather was cold and rainy, but that didn't stop us from having fun on our little road trip!

Ah, the joys of being too young for school!

Here's the birthday girl with Wynne and Garrison (somewhere behind that umbrella)!

We stopped at a block of quaint little shops in Spring Green. Across the street from them was this awesome general store.

The woodwork and original structures inside were fabulous! The merchandise, like its store name suggested, was general and miscellaneous. We enjoyed spending several minutes inside just browsing the toy and gift area.

I came across a magnet that I found to be quite poignant. "How old would you be if you didn't know how old you are?" Definitely something to remember and apply!

From as far back as I can remember, Marla has always played or coached a sport. She used to get so frustrated with Julie and me whenever we'd grow tired of playing softball with her...sure enough, after we had batted several times and it was finally her turn to step up to the plate! So it was no surprise that Marla wanted to enjoy lunch at the biggest sports bar around, Rookies.

This place is wall-to-wall with sports memorabilia, pictures, autographs, etc. And TVs playing sports past and present.

Yes, even in the bathrooms!!

See what I mean? Wall to wall. And ceiling too!

The basement holds a clubhouse which steps out onto this miniature stadium which is a certified wiffleball field. Very very cool!!

The ultimate sports fan's hangout. We were lucky to be there on a Friday for their delicious fish fry. And I was lucky to be in the company of such wonderful family!

We love because He first loved us. --1 John 4:19
