Fall...Football...Milestones

Our first homecoming.
Isn't she pretty?  No make-up or revealing dresses necessary!
Ally and her dad after the game, before the dance (no dates and no slow dancing, of course!) -photobombers Cy and Shae
We interrupt this football season to bring you a new year of SUNDAY SCHOOL!  Here are my girls (and cousin Catherine) touring the Tabernacle at Living Waters Bible Camp a few weeks ago.

Wynne, Kate, Sara, Hannah; Shae, Catherine, Paige
Okay, back to football.  Cy's last game on the middle school team....#30 just like his dad.....in pursuit!
Running the ball as a fullback (I think). Darn Black Hawk was tough once again!  It was a fun season, though...3-3-1!
Same day, different field, different game.  Mark and the varsity Chieftains were trying to get a share of the conference championship at Argyle.
Six Rivers All-Conference Manager Cy.  JK LOL

Pec-Argyle has some very tough, talented players.  and young!! We played hard and hung on to beat them by 6 points.  WOOHOO!!
Coach Siegert got a Gatorade shower for achieving his 100th win as a head coach!! Congrats, Mark!!
You didn't think I would let this milestone slip by without a little recognition, did you?
(See, I'm not the only one who thinks we have the best.coach.ever!!)

If you've been around the program long enough, you know that the first five years were the "lean years".  Wins were few and far between.  But it isn't just about the wins.  This guy has brought a passion to the game that is contagious.  He holds his student-athletes to a high standard, and it sets a positive tone for our school year.  The community comes alive at home football games on Friday night, and they are great about following the team everywhere!
Oh, geez...didn't plan to see all these people waiting for us back home!

Congratulations to the 2014 Six Rivers Conference Champions!  (9th one overall, 6th in the last 7 years)
It was so neat to see some former players, parents, administrator, and coaches who've worked with Mark over the past come out to note this milestone.  100 wins in high school football (with only 9 games per regular season) is no small accomplishment.
Megan made this awesome "plaque" that the kids signed.

He doesn't think it's a big deal, but the rest of us do!

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves.  - Philippians 2:3
