New Faces on the Farm

A neighbor has brought over six beef cattle to chew on our grass for a while.  Here they are discussing the events of the day with our jersey calves!  Aren't they colorful?
I'd never seen this breed before.  They're called American British White Park, a cross between American White Park and British White cattle.  Breeders claim that the beef is superior to angus and other traditional forms of beef cattle.
This guy is what you would call "under-marked"....meaning, he doesn't have as much black marking on him as the average ABWP would.
That would make this fella "over-marked".  How cool is this !!
I am no beef breeder; I am still having a hard time coming to terms with the freezer full of beef we now have, thanks to the guys that just lived with us for the past 2 years.  I'm not much of a farmer, I guess.  But I do appreciate good beef AND watching the cattle graze in our pasture.  The blue skies, green grass, fresh breeze...we are so lucky to live in this beautiful country!

The LORD has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.--Micah 6:8
