Ally's Adventures in Outdoor Ed

Two weeks ago the 6th graders had their annual trip to Wyalusing State Park!
Nope, some of these kids aren't quite in 6th grade yet...we were visiting for Family Night ;)
Ally and her classmates, along with senior counselors, a few parent volunteers and teachers, spent 3 days and 2 nights in the great outdoors...and some pretty great indoors, too!
Why can't her bedroom be this neat and clean??

After supper we enjoyed seeing the counselors and kids perform funny skits.  It's always fun seeing kids in a different light....a bit outside of their comfort zones!

Ally's group (whose name escapes me at the moment, something about cougars and cats) ended up winning "Best Skit".  Kate (far right) really emerged as the singing leader with this Tarzan song.
Ally's dad spent the whole time up there with them, teaching them outdoor fitness skills such as orienteering and archery.  (Which reminds me, I still have to enter their letterbox clues into the national website!)

Someone sent me a neat picture of Ally & her dad with the archery equipment, but it was pasted onto a Word document, so I can't quite figure out how to get it on here.  I just tried doing a hyperlink or something.  Maybe that will work!!

Of course the younger chitlin's were jealous and wanted to spend 3 days in the woods with their friends and their dad.  I was kinda hoping for their wish to come true, too...but we'll just have to wait till they're in 6th grade :)
