Forty-one Christmases
My husband has had the privilege of enjoying Christmas Dinner at his maternal grandparents' home every single year of his life! Here he is with his mom, grandma, and 3 of his brothers. Grandma Joan is 86 and still cooks a huge dinner and a table-full of pies for her family on the Big Three (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter).
This is the Table of Overeating. This picture was taken several hours post-meal, but don't let it fool you. This table has seen the expansion of many waistlines, including mine!!
Grandma Dubuque's Christmas means we get to see 1st and 2nd cousins! And we also get to show off our new Spoons skills.
Trevin is a bit camera-shy.
Cousin Nicole passes her "life of the party" skills onto Wynne!
Gift-opening time means hide-the-money-from-Dad time!!
One of my favorite gifts this Christmas was the one that Mark made for his Grandma, using old photos and their wedding invitation. The neatest thing was discovering the handwritten note from Grandpa Jim to Grandma Joan on the back of the invitation...something even the bride had forgotten about!
The basement TV always has sports on, so the kids often go upstairs to watch a more exciting movie, like Toy Story 3!
Aunt Elle is great about bringing board games or helping the little ones learn a new one. Paige and Shae received Pictureka from Ally, so there was plenty of time to give it a whirl!
Can you find....three wheels???
Christmas at Grandma's....a holiday tradition!
Afterward you may go and celebrate because of all the good things the Lord your God has given to you and your household. --Deuteronomy 26:11a NLT
