Fairytales Do Come True!

Last weekend we discovered that Cinderella was right. "Dreams really do come true"! Our first fairy godmother was a groovy little invention called the Playaway, a self-contained digital audio book. We checked out one for each kid and bought them each some earphones at the local library. It made a car trip go from this...

...to this! PEACE AND QUIET.

The occasion was our nephew's baptism. Tage looks like, "Why did you put me in this silly dress?!"

Here's big sister Kierta, not quite two and always on the go. She's a bit shy and not sure why her house is filled with so many loud people!

Part 2 of our Fairytale is that my children can remain reasonably clean on a 3-hour road trip. I couldn't resist snapping these pictures by Greg and Marin's lovely irises. Not sure if the print on the girls' dresses is irises or pansies, but the colors are just gorgeous, don't you think?

Short Legs in one of her rare "serious" poses.

Fairytale Part 3: Daughter and son smiling & hugging (albeit a side-hug and a half-hearted effort on daughter's part)!

Fairytale Part 4: A very cooperative baby being baptized!

Mark is so proud to be one of Tage's godfathers.

Tage and Lauren are only 6 days apart. What a blessing to have a cousin to grow up with!

Fairytale Part 5: Jack and Jill went up the hill to get some speed on their fall. (Oops, this one's a nursery rhyme not a fairy tale!) There's a twist to this story-nobody broke their crown (yet).!

Someone asked me if I missed this stage - constantly supervising your toddler. Um, no. I miss being able to hold my child without throwing my back out, but otherwise I do not miss this stage one little bit. And that is probably the best fairytale of all!

Jesus said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."--Mark 10:14
